After reviewing an outstanding group of students from across Columbia County, we’re excited to announce the finalists for the 2026 $10,000 Scholarship: Josiah Z., Riya R., and Emily Z.. 2025 School Year Scholarship
On behalf of the Sarah Zuber Memorial Scholarship Foundation, we are pleased you have chosen to learn more about this unique scholarship gift. We are honored to have the ability to award $10,000 in cash for a uniquely gifted student.
Please take a few moments to research who Sarah Zuber is, within the SZMSF page as well as historically in Columbia County, Oregon.
We are searching for like-minded young men and women, who are motivated to stand up, yet may not stand out in a crowd of their peers.
- Have creative talent (art, writing, etc.)
- Are innovative with new ideas or inventions
- Are critical thinkers, able to think outside the box
This scholarship covers a broad spectrum of talent. You may possess one or more of these talents. If so, this is the scholarship for you!
The application process will take a little work and time. But as you know, all good scholarships do. We plan to award $10,000 directly to the student, rather than to a school or institution.
How you use this award will be completely your choice. Maybe you will:
- Pursue a traditional college education
- Attend a trade or specialty school
- Travel to Europe to experience world-famous art exhibits
- Start your own small business
The choices are endless because this $10,000 would be in your hands.
The Sarah Zuber Memorial Scholarship Foundation retains the decision to:
- Award one $10,000 check to one recipient
- Or award $5,000 each to two recipients
After reviewing all applications, we will notify all finalists to schedule an interview before the final decision is made.

Application Qualifications
- You must be between 17 and 21 years of age.
- You must be a High School or Home School graduate before September 2026.
- You must be a current resident of Columbia County, Oregon.
